Action4Youth seeks Wheelie Great Name for its new Boat!

This month, leading Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes charity Action4Youth, has taken delivery of a new Wheelyboat, which looks set to transform the lives of children and young people with limited mobility.

The specially adapted power boat has roll-on, roll-off access to enable young wheelchair users and those with high dependency needs the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of water sports, without the need to leave their chairs.

To celebrate the arrival of the new boat, Action4Youth is asking primary schools in Milton Keynes to come up with a catchy name, in a ‘Boaty McBoatface’ style competition!

The winning name will be printed on the Wheelyboat and unveiled at an exclusive launch and naming event at the Caldecotte Xperience, Action4Youth’s outdoor centre in Milton Keynes, in spring 2018, with the winning school in attendance, along with VIP guests. The winning class will also receive a water sports session at the Caldecotte Xperience in summer 2018.

Jenifer Cameron, CEO of Action4Youth explains: “Our new Wheelyboat is the first of its kind to be launched in the region, giving all children and young people an equal opportunity to experience the excitement and adventure of water sports activities.

“We need the creativity and innovation of Milton Keynes’ young minds to come up with a suitably fun name for the boat that will expand the opportunities and experiences of young people with severe or complex needs.”

The competition will go out to Milton Keynes’ Primary Schools in January 2018. The winning name will be voted on by our Twitter Followers, with all shortlisted names Tweeted with #A4YWheelieGreatName, and announced on Twitter and via the school on 16 February 2018.
